Ellen’s background includes private practice, public health and academia, including faculty positions at both Mount Ida Dental Hygiene School and Cape Cod Community College.

From 2001 to 2010 Ellen worked at The Forsyth Institute, beginning as a Research Hygienist on a clinical trial comparing the effectiveness of traditional and non-traditional periodontal therapies. She then worked with Drs. Richard Niederman, Jennifer Soncini and Mary Tavares, to develop and implement the ForsythKids™ School Based Prevention program. Results of the ForsythKids™ teamwork was published in the Journal of the American Dental Association in August of 2008. Before leaving The Forsyth Institute in August of 2010 to begin a career with Polished LLC, Ellen held positions as ForsythKids™ Research Hygienist, ForsythKids™ Program Manager and ultimately the ForsythKids™ Program Director.

In addition, Ellen is a member of the Sigma Phi Alpha Honor Society, serves on the Executive Board of the Tri-County Commission for Oral Health Excellence, is on the Board of Directors for the National Network for Oral Health Access, the Advisory Committee for Cape Cod Child Development, and Chair of the Committee for Evidence Based Dentistry for the National Network for Oral Health Access, and represents the Cape Cod Component to the Board of Trustees of the Massachusetts Dental Hygiene Association.

She splits her time between Cape Cod and her native city of Peabody.
