Peabody to Kick Off 11th Year of Farmers Market

The farmers market opens for the season on Tuesday and will continue weekly from 1-6 p.m. out in front of City Hall.

Peabody kicks off the 11th year of its farmers market this year on July 16.

The market will continue through the summer into October on the front lawn of City Hall on Tuesdays from 1-6 p.m. The market had set up at the Leather City Common last summer, but moved over to City Hall the last few weeks for better visibility.

There are three vendors this year: the Srybnys of Hereford Valley Farm in Andover who have sold their produce in Peabody since the market began, Leonord Tipent of Designer Vegetables/Tipent Farm in Wenham (new this year with cut flowers and produce) and Peabody resident Ana Ortins with baked goods and cookbooks doing business as S.N.A.C.

There won't be a Saturday market this year, however, and there are no plans for musical entertainment or cooking demonstrations as there were last year. EBT cards won't be accepted for payment.
