Peabody's Rocha Ranked No. 5 in Nation

Elite distance runner Catarina Rocha is now ranked the fifth best female high school cross country runner in the nation.

As she prepares to head to San Diego again for the national championships of high school cross country, Peabody's Catarina Rocha does so as the No. 5 runner in the country, according to MileSplit, Inc.

The website, which covers high school cross country and track and field, released its nationwide rankings on Monday, based on 2012 season performances to date (particularly in head-to-head races).

MileSplit previously ranked Rocha 23rd in the country before she blew away the rest of the field at the Foot Locker Northeast Championships on Saturday.
