The 2013 Champion for Youth Awards have been presented!
In its efforts to localize the national Above the Influence Campaign which inspires teens to think critically about drug use and to reject negative influences, the Healthy Peabody Collaborative (HPC) recognized 22 adult community members identified by young people in Peabody as individuals who help teens to live above the influence of drugs, alcohol and other negative behaviors. Award recipients were presented with a certificate of appreciation from the City of Peabody for being a real example of a person who is making a positive difference in the life of a child. “This award recognizes the power of one individual to help, to heal, to support, to challenge, and to change, for the better, the life of a young person.” Sandi Drover, HPC Outreach Coordinator.
