Peabody Pride in Motion Spring Cleanup Postponed
With the threat of heavy rain on Saturday morning, Mayor Ted Bettencourt is postponing the Peabody Pride in Motion spring cleanup.
Bettencourt said the cleanup will now take place on Saturday, May 31.
Volunteers should arrive at 9 a.m. at City Hall to pick up cleaning supplies and fan out to targeted areas through Peabody. A pizza lunch will be served to all volunteers following the cleanup and everyone will get a Peabody Pride in Motion water bottle.

The cleanup is part of Bettencourt’s Peabody Pride in Motion initiative that is “designed to reignite citizen participation and community spirit.”
“Last spring, we had over 300 people come out and help improve the city they love,” Bettencourt said. “It is a great feeling to give something back to your community especially when the results – cleaner streets, sidewalks and parks – are on display for all to see.”
