The city's Department of Public Services has declared an emergency parking ban Tuesday afternoon as a winter storm is expected to descend on Peabody this evening.
Peabody police issued a public alert at 12:30 p.m. that said the ban would be in effect immediately.
"All vehicles need to be removed from the public roadways. [The ban] shall remain in effect until rescinded," the notice said.
While the ban is in place, all on-street parking across the city is prohibited and violators may be ticketed and towed.
