Nighttime Road Work Planned for I-95

Workers will be repairing beams.

MassDOT announced that nighttime roadwork in Peabody will start on Sunday, July 20 and will continue nightly through Friday, Aug. 1.

During that time, "either the two left lanes on I-95 southbound will be closed or the ramp from the Route 1 Connector (Route 129) to I-95 southbound
and the first travel lane on I-95 southbound at the bridge that
carries the Route 1 connector ramps over I-95 will be closed between
7 p.m. and 5 a.m. to allow work crews to repair a bridge beam that
was struck and damaged by an over height truck," according to MassDOT.

MassDOT said:

"When the ramp from the Route 1 Connector (Route 129) to I-95
southbound and the first travel lane on I-95 southbound at the
connector bridge is closed, traffic will be detoured to Route 1
southbound, then at Route 129, traffic will be directed to Route 1
northbound, then to the ramp to I-95 southbound.

"On I-95 Ramp B (Route 1 Connector/Route 129 to I-95 southbound), the
travel lane will be reduced to 12'-0" over the full length of the
bridge over I-95.

"MassDOT encourages drivers to seek alternate routes, to avoid delays.
Drivers that must travel through the affected area should expect some
delays and should reduce speed and use caution while approaching and
traveling through the work zone."
