TALES FROM THE POLICE LOG: Oct. 13-19

Here are the highlights, for one reason or another, from the pages of the Peabody Police Department press log this week.

October 13

• 1:52 a.m. A caller reported his intoxicated girlfriend punched him in the face upon returning to work. A 32-year-old Peabody man was then arrested at his apartment for domestic assault and battery.
• 11:08 p.m. A caller reported a male stranger at the door of a Veterans Memorial Drive residence. A 31-year-old Lawrence man was taken into protective custody after police said he was uncooperative and would not comply with the booking process. He was placed in a secure cell until he calmed down. He was then arrested on an outstanding default warrant from Peabody District Court.

October 14

• 1:55 a.m. Police dispersed a group of about 50-60 males at a Lowell Street home who were causing a disturbance. Police said the homeowner was advised to cease and desist for the night.
• 4:33 p.m. A caller at the Northshore Mall reported his moped was stolen. Police said the moped wasn't stolen, mall security cut the lock and moved it due to the fact that the man chained it to a natural gas line.

October 15

• 4:57 p.m. A manager at J. Crew reported finding a bullet in a fitting room. An officer retrieved the bullet and disposed of it.
• 5:28 p.m. Police responded to another accident involving a car into a telephone pole, this time at the intersection of Route 114 and Cross Street. Police said the driver, a 33-year-old Gloucester man, was transported to Salem Hospital and issued a court summons for driving under the influence of alcohol. Child endangerment charges were also filed because there was a child in the vehicle, a 2001 black Ford Escape.
• 10:59 p.m. Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Domino's Pizza in Wilson Square. See related story.

October 16

• 7:01 a.m. A construction crew on Upton Street reported a theft of a windshield from a 2012 model Bobcat at the site. The windshield is worth about $2,000.
• 3:58 p.m. Police responded to a two-car accident at the corner of Warren and Endicott streets. An 18-year-old Salem male who was driving a Toyota Corolla was transported to Salem Hospital and cited for a stop sign violation. The other driver -- a 43-year-old Peabody man in a Nissan Pathfinder -- told police later he would go to Lahey Clinic for medical attention. Both vehicles were towed.

October 17

• 1:15 p.m. A 33-year-old Lynn man was transported to Mass. General Hospital in Boston after falling off the roof of a home on Emerson Avenue where he was working.
• 2:01 p.m. A caller reported his vehicle ran out of gas and was left sitting on Route 114 near Route 128 while he went to get fuel. When the man returned, his car was gone. Police said they did not authorize the vehicle to be towed nor did state police. The vehicle was then reported as stolen. The man called back around 3:30 p.m., however, to say he found his car about 100 yards after the ramp to Route 128. He said it appeared someone pushed the vehicle out of the way.
• 9:09 p.m. Police served a restraining to a man at a Sutton Street residence and confiscated two firearms from inside the home.

October 18

• 9:17 a.m. The school resource officer was called by the school nurse at Peabody High in regard to a student with a hand injury. The student said he was waiting for the bus on Central Street when he was approached by someone and had to punch the person.
• 11:30 a.m. A caller at the Lakeside School on Lowell Street reported threats were made to her staff the night before. She said a female came to the facility to visit someone, but when she was denied access, the suspect then threatened to "come back with her boo and shoot up the place."
• 3:50 p.m. Police received a report of a person shoplifting baby formula from the Walmart in Danvers -- the car then headed down Route 114 into Peabody. There was a man driving the car -- a red 1995 Toyota Corolla -- and there were two children in the backseat. Danvers and state police then said they had the car stopped near the on-ramp to Route 128 and would be handling the charges. Danvers police said they also had one person in custody back at Walmart.

October 19

• 4:39 a.m. A 36-year-old Peabody man was arrested by detectives and state police as part of a regional drug raid. He was charged with trafficking oxycodone and possession of Class B and D drugs and transported to the Lynn Police Department to be interviewed. See related story.
• 12:15 p.m. A caller on Littles Lane reported a person in a black pickup truck came onto his property and tried to take an unsecured bicycle, but when confronted, the person left.
