Police Log: Police Investigate Easter Eggs and Bait Left to Harm Animals

Wednesday, June 4

At 2:22 p.m., police arrested Michael K. McCallum, 53, 15 Bennett St., Beverly, and charged him on a warrant for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and a number plate violation to conceal identification. Police made the arrest during a traffic stop on Andover Street.

At 2:42 p.m., a Peabody resident reported someone wrote three fraudulent checks using her checking account for a total of $800. She identified a possible suspect. Police are investigating.

At 4:02 p.m., police responded to Andover Street about a pedestrian accident. The driver said she was backing out of her spot at Walgreens and didn’t see the man behind her vehicle. The pedestrian was taken to Lahey.

At 5:34 p.m., police arrested Courtney L. Faustino, 27, 23 Prince St., Apt. 12, Danvers, and charged the person with assault and battery, disorderly conduct and malicious destruction of property less than $250. Police made the arrest after a disturbance call on Foster Street.

At 5:43 p.m., police arrested Felipe Escobar, 32, 14 Rock Ave., Apt. 2, Lynn, and charged him with operating a motor vehicle without a license and failing to stop. Police made the arrest during a traffic stop on Lowell Street.

At 6:04 p.m., police arrested Jessica Puopolo, 29, 52 Clement Ave., Peabody, and charged her on a warrant for malicious destruction of property more than $250 and possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. Police made the arrest during a traffic stop on Washington Street.

At 8:36 p.m., an officer found Easter eggs filled with antifreeze and other bait left to harm animals in the area of Aberdeen Avenue, Dexter Street and Greenwood Road. The animal control officer was notified and the matter is under investigation. Police said there are no reports of ill pets from the items that were found. 

 

Thursday, June 5

At 5:30 a.m., a Lowell Street business owner reported that employees vandalized an office. A 47-inch TV, three Apple computers and an Acer laptop were damaged. Police took a report.

At 7:20 a.m., police arrested Rosilene Souza, 43, 74 Walnut St., Apt. 1, Peabody, and charged her with operating a motor vehicle without a license and not having an inspection sticker.

At 9:15 a.m., police responded to a two-car accident on Central Street. There were no injuries. One car was towed.

At 12:06 p.m., a Birch Street resident reported someone entered his car overnight and stole credit cards, a GPS and two full prescription bottles.

At 12:28 p.m., police arrested Lair Jose Silva, 58, 22 Tracey St., Peabody, and charged him with operating a motor vehicle without a license and a warrant for operating a motor vehicle without a license. Police made the arrest during a traffic stop on Harris Street.
