Peabody Man Among Trio Charged with Prostitution in NH

Police conducted a sting operation by placing an ad for escort services on the website Backpage.com and three men responded to the ad, agreeing to pay money for sexual contact.

A Peabody man and two Derry, N.H. men are facing prostitution charges, following a sting operation conducted by the Manchester, N.H. Police Department.

Keith Gerbrands, 39, of Peabody, Mark Cooper, 40, and Jaime Aranzabal, 37, both of Derry, N.H. were all charged with prostitution on Thursday.

Manchester police said they posted an advertisement in the "escort" section of Backpage.com and received several calls from men inquiring about the escort services offered.

During a phone conversation with an undercover officer, police said, the men agreed to pay money in exchange for sexual contact.

Each of the men scheduled an appointment to meet with the undercover officer at a local hotel, and when they arrived, were confronted by police and arrested.

Why waste money for these sting operations. What is the big deal about someone who has needs and is willing to pay to fulfill them. Making prostitution illegal is archaic and should be changed. With all the drugs available our resources should be spent going after drug lords not poor guys who have nobody to get close to. And to give them a police record plus the embarrassment of being arrested, is wrong.

Don't be so quick to judge these people. This police station made these arrests with absolutely no judicial oversight. typically they use entrapment to make the arrests then they hide any exculpatory evidence that might point to that. They are always in hopes that the people just take what they are offered and go away. Others choose to go the more expensive timely and costly way to clear their good name. The thugs of the Manchester Police Department break rules and laws alike to make these stupid arrests. Of these three men. One was deported pleaded guilty and paid a 200.00 fine. Another pleaded guilty and paid a 200.00 fine and the third had all charges against him dropped and was cleared of any wrongdoing. So save your judgment on these matters until you know the outcome. Clearly manchester pd wasting taxpayer money.
