Man Seriously Injured After Motorcycle Crash on Route 1

A 39-year-old man was flown to a Boston hospital with a serious head injury after crashing his motorcycle into the side of a building.

A medical helicopter was en route to Peabody Tuesday afternoon after a motorcyclist reportedly crashed into a building on Route 1 and suffered serious head trauma.

The accident was reported around 4:30 p.m. near the Cabaret Lounge on the southbound side of the highway. According to reports, the motorcycle crashed into the wall of a building adjacent to the nightclub.

According to reports, the 39-year-old male operator was not wearing a helmet when he crashed.

Peabody police and fire responded to the scene and a MedFlight was quickly requested.

According to reports, the helicopter was landing at 83 Pine St. to pick up the patient.

The man was transported to a Boston hospital and fire crews cleared from both scenes shortly after 5 p.m.
