Man Breaks Into Stranger's Home While Drunk, Makes Threats to Kill Youths

The following are excerpts from reports in the Peabody Police Department press log from Nov. 19-21.

Monday, Nov. 19

• 3:17 p.m. A caller reported three juveniles -- two white males and a black male -- were throwing rocks at cars in Wilson Square. The youths were gone when police arrived.
• 3:19 p.m. A caller on Brookbridge Road reported her neighbor gave her seven-year-old son "the finger" and she was thus afraid to let him play outside after that. An officer spoke with the neighbor who denied giving "the finger" to the boy and the officer also explained how to be neighborly.
• 4:49 p.m. A 38-year-old Revere man and an 18-year-old Peabody male were both issued court summonses for malicious destruction of property over $250 and assault and battery, following a domestic incident at Mobile Estates on Route 1. A female caller initially reported her grandson was assaulted.
• 5:18 p.m. A 24-year-old Danvers woman was issued a court summons on two counts of shoplifting at the Hollister Co. store at the mall.
• 9 p.m. Thomas R. Carter, 25, of 286R Washington St., Peabody, was arrested for disorderly conduct (subsequent offense), breaking and entering for a misdemeanor and trespassing. A female caller who lives on Veterans Memorial Drive reported her two sons (ages 16 and 10) and another friend (age 13) were home alone when a drunk male started banging on the door and threatening them. Police received a second call from the older teen who said there was a white male wearing all black banging on the door and saying, "I'm going to kill you." He said the man was trying to enter the home and police advised the teen to move to a safe area with the other boys -- he said they were already in an upstairs bedroom with the door locked. Raymond was then taken into custody and evaluated by EMTs before being taken to Lahey Clinic where police kept guard over him.

Tuesday, Nov. 20

• 11:51 a.m. A caller at the Tannery Apartments on Crowninshield Street reported someone fraudulently used her Social Security number and filed for 2011 tax returns with the IRS.
• 1:06 p.m. A caller reported a past break-in at a Harris Street apartment. Police said entry was made by breaking a window and it was unknown at the time if anything was missing.
• 2:28 p.m. Carmen R. Davila, 22, of 71 Kingston St. #1, Lawrence, was arrested, following a report of a shoplifter at JC Penney. Davila was charged with larceny over $250, possession of burglary tools and receiving stolen property over $250.
• 3:06 p.m. Store security at Sears reported a male was using multiple American Express cards to purchase televisions online and picking them up in the store. Police said American Express was notified of the possible credit card fraud.
• 5:42 p.m. A caller reported a truck hit a deer in on Centennial Drive near the Analogic Corp. Police said that due to hitting the deer, a piece of debris hit another vehicle, causing a flat tire.
• 5:48 p.m. A caller reported a boat was parked on the railroad tracks near the post office on Wallis Street. Police checked the area, but could not find a boat anywhere.
• 6:09 p.m. Jonathan Neat, 24, of 507 Pondview Village, Gloucester, was arrested for domestic assault and battery at a Veterans Memorial Drive residence.
• 6:28 p.m. A caller at Town Variety reported two car tires were slashed.
• 6:33 p.m. Police received a report of a female customer who slapped a male employee at Abercrombie & Fitch for accusing her of possibly shoplifting. The employee, however, said he did not want to pursue the issue.
• 8:14 p.m. A caller reported a black male was assaulted by three other black males near a motorcycle shop at the Salem line. The caller he turned back to check the location and didn't see the people anymore. Salem police were contacted and said they checked the area, but didn't find anything.

Wednesday, Nov. 21

• 9:14 a.m. A caller at a Rockdale Park apartment complained that a neighbor was running loud machinery. An officer spoke to the neighbors and the issue appeared to be resolved. The same person called back 20 minutes later, however, to report that the neighbor made verbal threats after police left the scene. An officer responded and said the peace was restored once again.
• 10:47 a.m. A caller reported a car break-in on Keyes Drive. A GPS device was stolen.
• 10:54 a.m. Gary A. Iudice, 23, of 26 Elizabeth Ln, Peabody, was arrested at his home on an outstanding warrant from Salem District Court as a courtesy to Salem police and then turned over to that department. The warrant charge was for selling heroin.
• 11:11 a.m. A caller at the Peabody Mobile Park on Route 1 reported a suspicious Hispanic man in his mid 20s was walking between properties smoking marijuana. The caller said the man was wearing a blue hat, blue jean jacket and blue jeans. Police were unable to find the person.
• 11:30 a.m. A caller reported a group of four teenagers were smoking marijuana in the hallway of a Lowe Street apartment building. The teenagers were last seen walking up Foster street toward Main Street. An officer checked the area, but was unable to locate the teenagers.
• 12 p.m. Police responded to a report of a hit-and-run car accident at the corner of Lowell and Endicott streets. Police said two vehicles were involved and both were towed from the scene. A 38-year-old Lynn man was issued a court summons for leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and driving with a suspended license. No injuries were reported.
• 1:45 p.m. A caller reported an intoxicated male was at the Peabody Car Wash. The person found alcohol inside the vehicle upon driving it into the car wash and requested an officer prevent the customer from operating the vehicle. An offficer said the customer was temporarily staying at a Main Street apartment and the car wash was allowing the person to park vehicle at the business location. The customer would come back later to retrieve the vehicle.
