Loose Peacock, Hurt Seagull Among Animal Calls

The following information was provided by the Peabody Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following excerpts are from reports in the Peabody Police Department press log from Monday, Dec. 16 and Tuesday, Dec. 17.

Monday, Dec. 16

  • 2:48 p.m. There was a motor vehicle accident at 15 Harris St.
  • 2:57 p.m. A caller from Orchard Street said a neighbor was not giving adequate shelter to a dog. The caller wanted to talk to the person directly before involving police. Police sent the caller information from the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency on pet care during winter months.
  • 3:42 p.m. Police responded to 10 Thorndike St. for an ongoing neighbor dispute. A summons will be issued for Anthony Attachi, 42, of that same address, on charges of threat to commit a crime.
  • 4:09 p.m. There was a motor vehicle accident in the Kelly Volkswagen storage lot at 151 Andover St.
  • 4:10 p.m. A caller reported an injured seagull in a Martinack Avenue yard. The hurt bird was taken to Borash Animal Hospital.
  • 7:22 p.m. A truck driver ran into a snow bank outside Shaw's at the Northshore Mall. The driver was given a warning for having an obscured plate.
  • 7:52 p.m. A child was locked inside a running vehicle parked outside Sears at the Northshore Mall. Police resolved the situation.

Tuesday, Dec. 17

  • 2:31 a.m. A Charlestown man was taken to his family after locking himself in the bathroom at the Sunoco, 144 Newbury St., for more than an hour.
  • 8:43 a.m. Several cars remained in the Pierpont Street lot, covered in snow. One of them was towed because it was unregistered. The officer was going to attempt to contact the other owners to tell them they would be towed if they did not move their vehicles.
  • 11:41 a.m. Motor vehicle accident at Chandler's Ice Cream, 80 Andover St.
  • 1:39 p.m. A peacock was loose in the vicinity of Farm Avenue. Police contacted the owner of the b.
