Kids Reportedly 'Snowsurfing' Behind a Car

The following excerpts are from reports in the Peabody Police Department press log from Tuesday, Dec. 17 and Wednesday, Dec. 18.

Tuesday, Dec. 17

3:56 p.m. Police helped the Department of Public Services announce that towing would begin in the vicinity of Harris Street because of the snow emergency. After several passes, cars were ticketed.
4:18 p.m. On Endicott Street, an empty school bus was involved in a motor vehicle accident. There were no injuries.
5:13 p.m. On 128 and Centennial, there was a motor vehicle accident. A person reported a back injury.
5:37 p.m. There was a motor vehicle accident at 70 Lynnfield St. One person was taken to the hospital.
8:05 p.m. Peace was restored at 73 Tremont St. after neighbors quarreled over one of them parked her car on the street while the other shoveled the driveway.
9:17 p.m. There were two water breaks that resulted in low pressure or no water in West Peabody. One was at Penn Road and W. Livingston Drive and the other was on Catherine Road.

Wednesday, Dec. 18

1:37 a.m. A caller reported kids "snowsurfing" off the back of a car near 18 Herold Street. Police couldn't find the kids.
5:42 a.m. A neighbor called to complain about someone using a snowblower for an hour early in the morning on Wheeler Street. Police rectified the situation.
Noon Police responded to Land Rover of Peabody, 247 Newbury St., for a report of a hit-and-run. One party wasn't there when police arrived, and the person there said that person had fled before the victim could get a plate number. The victim's cell phone was also stolen, allegedly to prevent the victim from calling in the accident.
12:22 p.m. At 742 Lowell St., a tree fell across the road. The DPW was called.
12:56 p.m. There was a motor vehicle accident at 126 Lowell St. One party was taken to Beverly Hospital.
