Chamber Seeks Nominations for Community Service Awards

Annually, the Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce recognizes and honors individuals, businesses and organizations who are leaders in the community.

Help us identify those who contribute in the following categories:

MARY UPTON FERRIN AWARD
Criteria:  This prestigious award is given to a woman who lives or works in Peabody or is a member of the chamber; leads a community based civic, economic, or cultural initiative; serves as a role model for women and girls; has struggled to overcome obstacles or  conquered unique challenges; champions a humanitarian based effort, and the effect have demonstrated change for the good over a significant period of time.

BUSINESS LEADERSHIP AWARD
Criteria:  Presented to a chamber member business in good standing for a minimum of 3 years; demonstrates a high standard of excellence in business practices, leadership and  community involvement; and is a role model for other businesses.

DESIRE KING AWARD
Criteria:  This award recognizes a woman owned or operated chamber member business that demonstrated business excellence and achievement; embodies an entrepreneurial spirit and serves as an inspiration to others.

COMMUNITY SPIRIT AWARD
Criteria:  This individual is an “unsung hero”, demonstrating consistent and long-term efforts on behalf of the community or organization on a volunteer basis. 

To submit a nomination for any of the above awards send a letter or email including Award Category being nominated for, name of business or individual along with address and telephone number, a description of why this person/organization is being nominated, specific examples that illustrate  how this nominee sets themselves apart from others,  list of community projects and/or civic/charitable affairs which the nominee has been involved, describe the most difficult hurdle/challenge that the nominee has faced and solution in resolving them, what economic or community impact has the nominee made to qualify them for this award.
 
Please include your name and contact person in case the selection committee has any questions or requires additional information.   The recipient will be announced during Women’s History Month and honored at the Chamber’s Community Service Ceremony to be held in March.
