Obituary: John W. Giampietro, 57, Lifelong Peabody Resident

Obituary from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home:

John W. Giampietro, 57, beloved son of Ann (DiEoreo) Giampietro of Peabody and the late William Giampietro, died peacefully on Saturday March 29, 2014 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading, while in the comforting presence of his family.

Born in Boston, he grew up in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School. He then went to Salem State College where he earned his degree in Geology.

Mr. Giampietro worked for Dresser Labs in Houston, Texas, during the 1980s.  He later returned to the Boston area, and was a driver for a company that contracted with the airlines at Logan Airport to transfer their Flight Crews and Pilot teams during stays in the Boston area.

John enjoyed all things about the natural sciences, and enjoyed being outdoors. He was an avid coin collector, and had an extensive rock collection and precious minerals and gems. One of his cherished passions was relaxing in the Sebago Lake area of Maine. He will be remembered for his rugged individualism and living life in his unique way.

He is survived by his mother, Ann Giampietro of Peabody; a sister, Janice Giudice of Peabody; his niece Kristin Paone of Salem, and he also leaves several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Wednesday April 2, 2014 for a visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Adelaide’s Church, 710 Lowell St., Peabody. Cremation will follow the Mass.
