Santa Claus Flies Into Danvers Saturday By Helicopter

Santa Claus is due to arrive by Boston MedFlight Saturday morning, followed by a holiday open house at the Liberty Tree Mall.

Santa's covering just about every means of transportation this year to get to Danvers -- first it was hoofin' it out to the SwampWalk, then by boat to Popes Landing, atop a fire engine to Danvers Square and now this weekend by helicopter.

Boston MedFlight will be carrying Saint Nick and his helpers over to the Liberty Tree Mall Saturday morning. They're due to arrive at 8:30 a.m. and land in the rear parking lot next to the police station.

If the weather is uncooperative, they'll have to take an ambulance.

Danvers police officers and firefighters will then join Saint Nick in delivering a special safety message for kids of all ages. And that's not all.

The mall is hosting a holiday open house from 10 a.m. - noon and there are other activities scheduled to last later in the day. Santa will be available for photos, there will be fashion shows, free food samples, door prizes and more.
