We've taken it upon ourselves to give you a head start. Here are some dinner specials from Peabody restaurants for Feb. 14:

  • Burtons Grill hasn't advertised any special additions to its menu yet, but urges anyone planning to dine at the restaurant on Valentine's Day to make their reservations soon.
  • Dinis Restaurant & Lounge is offering a special menu for the occasion -- details were not available online -- and providing the sweets to top off your meal. You'll get a free dessert of either chocolate mousse or flan pudding with each entree purchased on Valentine's Day. Call to make a reservation.
  • Scosso Ristorante & Martini Bar is offering a special fixed menu, candlelight for the romantic atmosphere and live entertainment from 6-9 p.m. with the C/Z String Trio. And then from 10 p.m. - 1 a.m. there will be a Valentine's Day After Party with DJ Anthony Arduino. The price is $50 for dinner (appetizers, salad, entree and dessert) or $70 to add martini or wine pairings.
  • Stonewood Tavern hasn't advertised any food specials yet, but the restaurant will be hosting a special night of entertainment with Joey Canzano (7:30-9:30 p.m.).

Mmm...chocolates. Karl's Sausage Kitchen & European Market has all sorts of imported fine chocolates to choose from for your sweetheart -- German, Belgian, Swiss, Swedish and Danish chocolates from a variety of chocolatiers.
