Take a Sneak Peak at the New MINI Model

Want to get a look at the new MINI Cooper Coupe? Well, you're in luck.

The MINI of Peabody dealership on Route 114 is holding a four-day preview for the public to get a look at the speedy new pint-sized car.

The 2012 Coupe model will officially hit showrooms this fall, but from Aug. 18-21, you can stop by the dealership showroom for a sneak peek. The car won't be available to take out for a test drive, however, according to a press release. 

MINI of Peabody says the new model is different from the rest of the lineup, most noticeably with the absence of backseats, which allows for a lower, edgier roofline and more cargo space. The Coupe is touted to be the fastest MINI on the market.

It's also a two-seater.

"The MINI Cooper Coupe is the first two-seater MINI and its fastest trim can easily break the 140-mph barrier, so I'd say it's a MINI for those that live adventurously," said Marshal Cabot, general manager of of the Peabody dealership in a press release.

"The MINI 'Couper,' as we've come to call it, is going to let our customers take signature MINI driving and handling to the next level," Cabot added.

And as if that's not enough, a convertible model, dubbed the MINI Roadster, is slated to debut in spring 2012.

"I think the MINI Coupe and its sibling the MINI Roadster are going to be instant hits with young-hearted drivers," Cabot said. "They share a lot of DNA with the rest of the MINI family, but both have a very distinct, sporty shape. Simply put, these aren't the type of cars that you lose in a parking lot."

The four-day preview, starting Thursday, is free and open to the public during normal business hours: 8 a.m. - 8 p.m., Monday to Thursday; 8 a.m. - 7 p.m., Friday; 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Saturday; and noon - 5 p.m. on Sunday.
