Locally Owned Restaurants Offer Great Food at Affordable Prices

Here are some deals offered by five Peabody eateries.

Most families enjoy going out to eat at their favorite local restaurants to get a break from cooking breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Fortunately, Peabody is blessed with many locally-owned restaurants that serve up great food at very reasonable prices that cater to many familie's household budgets.

This week, Frugal Family looks at some of the specials and deals offered by five of the city's eateries.

DEAL:

The Wardhurt Grille has been serving up delicious steaks, seafood, chicken and pasta dishes for many years and some of the Greek fare is not to be missed. Two dishes worth trying are the roast lamb dinner for $8.95 and their Shepherd's pie for $11.95. The restaurant's kid's menu is also very affordable with selection such as a hamburger for $4.95, a hot dog for $4.25 and grilled cheese sandwich for $6.95. These two dishes and many others are available daily on their menu.

DEAL:

This restaurant has been a favorite all-day breakfast place of locals for nearly half a decade and families who want to go out for a breakfast, lunch or dinner can make their dollars go further with this deal. It is offered to patrons Monday to Friday between 12 p.m. and 7 p.m. and excludes ice cream. 

DEAL:

After finishing dinner at this Lowell Street restaurant in West Peabody, families can save as much as $15 to $20 if they choose to get a free dessert of strawberry shortcake. The deal is offered on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

DEAL: Brazilian barbecue at an unbeatable price at Fire Bull.

The Fire Bull restaurant in downtown Peabody serves up one of the best rotisserie barbecue buffets in the entire North Shore where families can eat as much beef, pork, chicken and sausages as they want for one price. The buffet includes house salad, white rice, Brazilian style beans, fried plaintains and many other items. Adults pay $23.95 per person, children 7 to 10 years old pay $10.95 and children under 7 pay $5.95.

DEAL:

Families who decided to enjoy some Asian fare, but don't want to break their budget should consider Su-Chang's daily luncheon specials all for under $10. Some of the dishes include General Gau's chicken, crab ragoons and pork fried rice for $6.25 and barbecue spare ribs, spring roll and pork lo mein for $5.75.
