FIAT of Peabody Finally Finds a Home in Peabody

The former home of North Shore Lincoln-Mercury now has sporty little European cars filling the lot. And Kelly FIAT of Peabody is finally located in Peabody.

Brian Kelly, of Kelly Automotive Group, is nearly done reshuffling and expanding his dealerships along Route 114. The FIAT dealership completed the move up the road last week from 72 Andover St. in Danvers to 1 Cross St. in Peabody and Kelly's Volkswagen dealership will relocate as well.

The site at 72 Andover St., which is under construction, will become the new home of Kelly's Volkswagen with a lot for new cars, one for used vehicles and a wind turbine atop the building to generate electricity to recharge cars and keep the lights on inside.

The Volkswagen dealership is in the midst of moving from 151 Andover St. in Danvers (in front of Lowe's). Kelly told Danvers town officials last fall he hopes to bring a "high-end" dealership to that site.

Kelly had considered moving the FIATs over to the former Borders Books site, which he purchased in 2010, but then decided to use it as a car storage lot for his dealerships instead.

Also any customers looking to service their FIATs will have to continue trekking over to Kelly Jeep Chrysler on Route 1 North in Lynnfield for the time being.
