Food Pantry to Close Doors Friday Due to Excessive Heat
Clients who normally come on Fridays are encouraged to either stop in Thursday or on Monday instead.
Haven from Hunger is shutting its doors all day Friday due to the heat.
According to staff at the food pantry, while temperatures have hovered around 90 degrees outside this week, the temperature inside the basement of the Masonic Temple has been much worse.
A public notice Thursday said the pantry would be closed all day Friday, including dinner service, due to the excessive heat inside the building at 71 Wallis St.
Clients who normally come on Fridays were encouraged to either stop in Thursday or on Monday instead.
