Friends of the Peabody Library Gives Scholarships to Deserving Pages

Friends of the Peabody Institute Library gave three scholarships to deserving Library Pages who are off to college in the fall.

At the Friends of the Peabody Institute Library meeting on Wednesday, June 5th, three college-bound Library Pages were each given $200 scholarships to help them with their college expenses. Elina Mako, Library Page at the Main Library attended the meeting and was presented with her scholarship and certificate by Gerri Guyote, Assistant Library Director and Paula Kilcoyne, President of the Friends. Ms. Mako will be attending the Massachusetts College of Pharmacology. Two additional Pages were unable to attend the meeting, but also received scholarships: Lindsay Broderick, West Branch Library Page, who will be attending the Rochester Institute and Technology and Kelsey Littlefield, South Branch Library Page who will be attending Holy Cross College The Friends wish these Pages the best as they embark on their college endeavors.

The Friends of the Peabody Institute Library offer this scholarship annually to Library Pages as a way of showing appreciation for the Page’s hard work and dedication to the Peabody Institute Library. Eligible Pages who are planning to attend college are encouraged to apply for the scholarship during their senior year of high school. This year, the Friends decided to grant three scholarships because of the high quality of the applicants and the applicants’ commitment and service to the Library.
