Ward 3 Primary is Next Tuesday

Here's what you need to know today in Peabody.

Today is Friday, Sept. 13. Here are five things to know today in Peabody.

  1. The city primary for the race over in Ward 3 is coming up next Tuesday. Former councilors Bill Toomey and Jim Moutsoulas are contending with Tom Serino for the seat on the City Council. The primary is Sept. 17. Polls are open from 7 a.m. - 8 p.m. in Ward 3.
  2. Next Monday is also Picture Day at Peabody Veterans Memorial High School.
  3. Are you a senior citizen and do you ride the T? State Sen. Joan Lovely is hosting a Senior CharlieCard Day at the Torigian Center Sept. 16. Local seniors can stop by to sign up for reduced fare cards.
  4. Free playgroups: The Coordinated Family & Community Engagement Program offers free playgroups for kids on Tuesdays and Wednesday mornings at the McCarthy School. You check out the schedule here as well as the other activities and programs offered.
  5. Parent Orientation Sessions are coming up Wednesday (6-8 p.m.) at Higgins Middle School and Thursday (6-8 p.m.) at PVMHS.
