New Poll Shows Warren With Her Biggest Lead of Campaign

In a campaign that has regularly been too close to call, the latest poll from Public Policy Polling (PPP) shows Elizabeth Warren with a clear lead in the race to represent Massachusetts in the U.S. Senate.

The poll, taken between Oct. 15 and 16 on behalf of the League of Conservation Voters, has Warren leading Brown, 53 percent to 44 percent. The poll consisted of 705 likely voters from Massachusetts. The margin of error is 3.7 percent.

Also taking a hit in the poll was Brown's approval rating, which fell to 46 percent. Forty-five percent of those polled disapproved of the senator's job performance.

Warren, however, enjoyed an increase in her favorable numbers. With 52 percent of those polled having a favorable view of Warren, the Democrat now enjoys a difference of plus nine percent between her favorable and unfavorable numbers. Forty-three percent of those polled had an unfavorable rating of Warren and 5 percent were unsure.

While Warren has not had trouble leading with women, the poll also shows her with a 50 percent to 48 percent lead among men as well. With women, Warren leads 55 percent to 40 percent.

Although Warren has led now in the last three polls to be conducted -- Brown was up three points in a poll two weeks ago -- the overall margin of her perceived lead is still just 3 percent, well within the margin of error for polling data.
