5 Things You Need to Know Today, April 5

Today is Thursday, April 5. Here are five things to know today in Peabody.

  1. Today's weather: Sunny with high near 54 degrees and with wind gusts up to 26 mph.
  2. Student Government Day: Peabody High seniors get to take on the roles city and school officials for a day once again, and news reporters as well. Student representatives start the morning off at with their counterparts, who they'll shadow for the day. The program concludes tonight with a ceremony back in Wiggin Auditorium during which students will convene a mock sessions of the City Council and School Committee. The evening program begins at 6 p.m. with refreshments at 8:30 p.m.
  3. Garden Club tonight: The at 7 p.m. at the with guest speaker Rita Wolmering of the Herb Farmacy talking on "Growing Organic Vegetable & Herbs" with plants, herbs, lotions, sachets, etc. for sale.   4. PVMHS Class of '82 reunites: The  Class of 1982 is looking for fellow classmates to celebrate its 30th annual reunion. The celebration is planned for June 16 at the . Go to pvmhs82.com for more details.
  5. Planning your summer yet? The is now accepting online registrations for its summer programs. Hard copies of the brochure will be available next week. There are also a number of spring programs that still have slots left: April Vacation week programs, Jr. Explorers & Rangers, Babysitting 101, Spring Tennis, Family Nature Nights, Rock Climbing, Surf's Up!, PYTV - Take 2, Fishing! and Canoe & Kayak Safety Workshop.
