Injuries Reported in Head On Collision on Lowell Street

The following information was provided by the Peabody Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it doesn't indicate a conviction.

The following are excerpts from reports in the Peabody Police Department press log from June 28-30.

Friday, June 28

  • 3:51 p.m. a caller reported a burglary attempt on a home for sale on Lynnfield Street. An officer reported that it appeared that entry was gained through an open window. 
  • 5:26 p.m. a caller reported a head-on collision on Lowell Street. Injuries were reported. 
  • 7:31 p.m. a caller reported youths damaging a vegetable garden on Rockdale Park. An officer spoke with the youths. 
  • 9:10 p.m. a caller reported a possible breaking and entering in progress on Franklin Street. A caller reported seeing an unknown man lift up his neighbor's middle garage door and then close it behind him. Police arrested Daniel Hynes, 42, of 73 Franklin St., Apt. 2. Hynes was arrested on an outstanding warrant. 
  • 9:21 p.m. an indecent assault was reported at the Northshore Mall. 

Saturday, June 29

  • 9:07 a.m. a caller reported that prescription pads were stolen from Sports Medicine North on Orthopedic Drive. 
  • 9:25 a.m. a caller reported larceny by check on Brooksby Village Drive. The caller said that the check he wrote to a healthcare worker was changed from one to two hundred dollars. 
  • 10:10 a.m. an officer reported vandalism to an electrical box on Bartholomew Street. Someone had tagged the box with the word "lish" in blue spray paint. 
  • 12:44 p.m. a caller reported that her son's cell phone was stolen from the YMCA on Lynnfield Street. 
  • 1:52 p.m. Nordstroms loss prevention reported a shoplifter that stole over $100 worth of merchandise.
