Lanagan Promoted to Associate Executive Director at Brooksby Village

Brooksby Village has promoted Helen Lanagan of Burlington to the position of Associate Executive Director at Brooksby Village.

Brooksby Village has promoted Helen Lanagan of Burlington to the position of Associate Executive Director at Brooksby Village.

Lanagan has been at Brooksby Village since March of 2005 when she was hired to open Brooksby Village’s visiting nurse services. In May of 2007, she was promoted to Director of Resident Life and in June of 2011 she was promoted to Director of Operations.

Lanagan will continue to have responsibilities overseeing general services and resident life along with the associate executive director’s responsibilities, which include assisting the executive director in managing the community, working with the executive director to instill the mission and culture for staff members and working cooperatively with all community directors.

Lanagan has over 30 years’ experience in health, elder care and management. She is a registered nurse and holds a master’s degree in health care management. Early in her career Lanagan worked as a director of nursing for a skilled nursing facility and as a professor at a community college.

Her experience also includes CEO of a visiting nurse organization, president of a private home care organization, CEO of a school of cosmetology, director of a rehab and home care company, director of a mental health care organization, president of the board of a credit union, president of the board of an adult day care organization and president of two different Chamber of Commerce organizations.

Brooksby Village has three large clubhouses, featuring an on-site medical center, staffed by full-time doctors, five restaurants, two convenience stores, two beauty parlors, a TV studio, a swimming pool, activity rooms, classrooms, game rooms and even two branches of a bank. Residents also have the opportunity to take part in hundreds of different clubs and activities. The community also has its own Interfaith Chapel on campus that serves as the physical foundation for a strong faith-based community.
