Travelers Urged Not to Park at Logan Airport During School Vacation Week

Travelers are strongly urged to take a bus or the MBTA to reach Logan Airport during the busy week of school vacation from April 15-19. Parking at Logan is expected to exceed capacity.

If you're flying out of Logan Airport with the family next week during school vacation, airport officials "strongly urge" you to utilize public transportation or get a ride there -- the parking at the airport is expected to exceed capacity. Massport is offering a special deal for its Logan Express Bus service to that end -- children 17 and under can now ride free when accompanied by an adult and adult passengers will pay half off their round trip bus fare.  Massport says a family of four traveling for seven days over April vacation and making a round trip with the bus (including parking) will pay a fraction of what it would cost instead to park in Logan’s Central Garage or in Economy Parking at the airport. Don't park in Peabody either. The nitwit police will give you a ticket, then if you try to pay it you get told that the parking clerk is out or they don't take payments on line. And if you don't pay because you can't make it to the police station, or because you got a registry hold for a ticket you never knew you had, you can't even pay on line. Peabody TSA Agent Honored for Coming to Aid of Man in Distress at Airport

Logan Airport award honors employees who go above and beyond the call of duty.

[The following was submitted by the Massachusetts Port Authority.] The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) has awarded Peabody resident Michael Barros with the Authority’s “Logan Stars” award. The award honors non-Massport employees at Boston Logan International Airport whose actions epitomize the highest level of customer service. Barros is a Behavior Detection Officer with the TSA and was recognized by Massport for providing exceptional customer service during a medical emergency. Barros and his partner were patrolling the terminals when they came across an individual in need of medical care as a result of a fall from an escalator.
