Peabody Man Accused of Downloading, Sharing Child Porn

A 33-year-old Peabody man is facing charges of possessing dozens of pornographic images of children on his home computer and and distributing them via an online file sharing network.

A 33-year-old Peabody man is facing charges of downloading dozens of images of child pornography onto his home computer and sharing those pictures and video in a file sharing network. Ronald Mikol, 33, of 3231 Crane Brook Way, Peabody, was arrested last week on a warrant and charged with possession and distribution of child pornography, following an investigation of a peer-to-peer file sharing service by state police, reports the Salem News. The Salem News reports police were able to trace various pictures and videos shared on the network to Mikol's computer. He was arraigned March 26 in Peabody District Court and is being held on $10,000 cash bail with the provisions he stay off computers and stay away from children for the time being. …

Look at this article from the Newton Patch. Same type of charge but he was tried in Federal Court and they locked him up for 45 years. Peabody Man Pleads Guilty to Child Porn Charges

Man admits to downloading thousands of pictures and more than 100 videos depicting child pornography from the Internet onto his home computer, and then sharing those files online.

A 49-year-old Peabody man has pleaded guilty to charges against him of possession and distribution of child pornography and is now headed to jail. The Salem News reports that Barry Bushway was sentenced in Salem Superior Court on Friday to serve six months of a 2 1/2-year jail term -- he admitted to downloading thousands of images and more than 100 videos of child pornography from the Internet onto his home computer. Investigators also said Bushway made those photos available to other users of an online file sharing service, reports the Salem News. Some of the images showed young children being raped. After his release, Bushway will be on probation for eight years and isn't allowed to have unsupervised contact with children under 18 or …
