Mayor Hosting Breakfast to Honor Peabody War Vets
Mayor Bettencourt will host a breakfast for the city's war veterans Sunday, particularly those who served in World War II, as a new part of the city's annual Veterans Day ceremonies.
They fought the Nazis and Japanese forces, they put their lives on the line for the country they believed in, and then came home and went to work. They were called the "Greatest Generation" for all those reasons and more. At a time now when there are few veterans left from World War II, Mayor Ted Bettencourt would like to pay some small tribute to Peabody's soldiers on Veterans Day this Sunday. Bettencourt is hosting the 1st Annual Peabody Veterans Day Breakfast Sunday morning at City Hall.
