There were no injuries in the accident Monday afternoon at the jughandle, but traffic on the southbound side of the highway was brought to a crawl for hours until the rig was safely removed.
Traffic on the southbound side of Route 1 in Peabody was brought to a crawl Monday afternoon as part of the highway was closed due to a tractor-trailer that overturned in the middle of the jughandle. The leftmost lane on the northbound side of the highway and two lanes on the southbound side were closed to traffic for more than three hours as emergency response crews worked at the scene before the truck was eventually towed away. Detours were put in place at Lowell Street (heading south) and also at the on-ramp onto Route 1 South from Route 114 in Danvers. The woman who was thrown from her car after it rolled over on Route 128 Sunday night was identified as a Gloucester resident.
State police identified the victim from a rollover crash on Route 128 Sunday night as a 76-year-old Gloucester woman. The Salem News reports that state police confirm the woman was thrown from the vehicle after crashing on the off-ramp at Exit 44B (onto Route 1) on the northbound side of the highway. The accident occurred around 10:20 p.m. The woman was taken to Tufts Medical Center in Boston by Medflight. No further details were released on the accident.

A female driver was thrown from her vehicle, but did not suffer life-threatening injuries, late Sunday night when the car rolled over on a highway off-ramp.
According to reports, a female driver was flown by helicopter to Tufts Medical Center Sunday night after her car rolled over on Route 128 and she was ejected from the vehicle. The Salem News reports the accident occurred on the northbound side of the highway at the off-ramp onto Exit 44 (Route 1) around 10 p.m. The woman did not apparently suffer life-threatening injuries, according to state police. Other reports indicate the victim was an elderly female and was thrown 50-75 feet from the car. She was reportedly in trauma, but conscious at the scene. The landing zone for the MedFlight was identified as the Analogic parking lot nearby on Centennial Drive.

A rollover led to a multi-vehicle crash, which also included a tractor-trailer, on Route 128 on Friday around noon.
Traffic was snarled on Route 128 North Friday afternoon after a rollover led to a multi-vehicle accident. Units at the scene confirmed five vehicles were involved in the crash -- one of them was a tractor-trailer. The accident was first reported at approximately 12:10 p.m. just before the split between Route 128 North and I-95 North, about a quarter-mile down from Centennial Drive. First responders to the scene said no one was trapped in any of the vehicles -- two of them were on their sides -- and there appeared to be only one serious injury with some minor injuries to several others. All four victims from Monday afternoon's rollover on Route 1 were from Lynn. One of the passengers, a 19-year-old male, died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
State police have released the identity of the passenger who died in a vehicle rollover Monday during Hurricane Sandy. State police say Isaias Lopez-Solis, 19, of Lynn, was pronounced dead at Mass. General Hospital as a result of injuries he sustained in the crash. Lopez-Solis was thrown from the vehicle, along with two other passengers, Monday afternoon when the SUV rolled over on Route 1 South. The other two passengers and the driver, Rony Lopez, 26, did not suffer life-threatening injuries. No charges have been sought at this time; the investigation is ongoing.

State police say one person has died from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle crash Monday afternoon on Route 128. The person was one of three passengers thrown from an SUV -- a 1998 Toyota 4-Runner -- when the vehicle hit a guardrail and rolled over just before the Lowell Street exit. Route 128 southbound at Route 114 was shut down Monday afternoon after a motor vehicle rolled over and left all four occupants seriously injured. A call came in at approximately 4 p.m., reporting the rollover just before the Lowell Street exit. Multiple Peabody fire engines responded to the scene. According to radio transmissions, two people were ejected from the vehicle and two were stuck inside, but eventually freed themselves and were walking around at the scene. Units at the scene said all four victims were suffering major traumatic injuries and were being treated by EMTs before transport to the hospital.
