When you're looking for a night out and a break from cooking, you might want to know what's new not only where you live, but also in other North Shore communities. Here's our round up of the area's latest food news: Watch out, when you go through Peabody. You might get hit by one of the yogurt shops that seems to be sprouting up everywhere. In the Witch City, new restaurants are going in on the same corner at Essex and Washington. Already open is Naumkeag Ordinary, a pub that's opened in the previous Cafe Polonia spot. A warm-looking bar greets you as you come in. Round the corner and you'll see the renovations underway at the old A Taste of Thyme. That spot will reopen as Medusa's Cafe. Here's our round up of the area's latest food news: If you're a fan of train-shaped pancakes (and who isn't?) then you'll be happy to know that an iconic but tiny spot in Peabody Square, the Little Depot Diner, is open with new owners. Speaking of ice cream, you are of course aware that Saturday is National Ice Cream For Breakfast Day, right? And Cherry Farm Creamery is throwing a celebration/fundraiser from 8 a.m. to noon. Here's our round up of the latest food news: Sad news for fans of pierogi and Gypsy pancakes: Cafe Polonia will be closing its doors soon. Having just moved to Salem and only eaten there twice, I know I'll miss the Polish and Eastern European restaurant. If you've never been, I recommend you go before it's gone for good. Here's our round up of the latest food news in the area: The new managing partners at the Wild Horse Cafe, which reopened Wednesday and boasts a martini bar and 26 beer taps, promise not to tamper with the nachos as they mull spring renovations.
