The Manoogian sisters starred at Peabody High on the soccer field and now the two of them are back together, playing for Colgate, looking to make their mark on Raiders Soccer.
One of the things 21-year-old Alyssa Manoogian misses the most about playing soccer for Peabody High is the big buildup for games, especially games against the Danvers Falcons. “Oh they’re our biggest rival for sure, we knew most of the girls on the team from the club teams in our area and we absolutely wanted to beat them each time we played,” Alyssa said. Alyssa graduated from PVMHS in 2009 and headed to New York to Colgate University to play soccer and study sociology and anthropology. Her younger sister Emily joined her once again on the soccer field, graduating from PVMHS in 2011 and enrolling at Colgate. Her major is undeclared. The sisters were outstanding athletes on the soccer field and the basketball court in high school for the …

A fitting tribute to the new Division I state champs, the Peabody girls' soccer team was invited down for a celebratory dinner at Champions Pub Monday.
Three days later, the Lady Tanners' soccer squad was still elated at bringing home a championship Division I trophy to Peabody. They shared that excitement with Peabody Patch at Champions Pub on Monday, where they were invited for a fitting celebratory dinner. The pub owners, Kevin Houlden and Phil Mitchell, are both former coaches at Peabody Veterans Memorial High School and treated the team and current coaches to dinner to congratulate them on Friday's big win over East Longmeadow. The soccer champs are also slated to be in the spotlight Wednesday as school spirit week closes out at Peabody Veterans Memorial High School with Class Color Day.

The Peabody High girls' soccer squad is poised to make school history tonight if it can out play East Longmeadow for the state championship.
It’s within reach – the first ever state title for girls’ soccer and the first state title for Peabody Veterans Memorial High School athletics in the past 18 years (Super Bowl 1993). And to add some more perspective, 1985 was the last time a girls’ team at PVMHS played for and won a state ring. It would seem long overdue. The undefeated Lady Tanners’ soccer club is headed to Worcester tonight to face off with East Longmeadow for the Division I Championship. After recording a hot season at 16-0-2, the Peabody girls blazed their way through the playoffs to a sectional crown – another first – and then victory over Oliver Ames on Tuesday to end up in the State Final. Peabody (21-0-2) is ranked No. 10 in the nation, according to the latest poll…

Peabody girls' soccer stays alive to defeat Oliver Ames in overtime and move on to state championship game.
All season long, the duo of Victoria Digiacomo and Hayley Dowd have provided a deadly one-two punch for the Peabody High girls' soccer team. That duo struck again in Tuesday night's 2-1 overtime victory over Oliver Ames in the Division 1 state semi-finals. Just 2:48 into the extra session, Dowd, who scored the tying goal in the second half, fed Digiacomo on the Oliver Ames end of the field. The junior forward slid by two defenders and slid her shot past OA goaltender Alexis Duffy-Protentis to send her team on a date with destiny for this weekend's MIAA state finals. “We were very fortunate to put that one away at the end,” Peabody coach Dennis Desroches said. “Victoria and Haley have been coming through for us all year long. They’ve worked…

Hayley Dowd and Victoria Digiacomo provided all the Lady Tanners' scoring Sunday as Peabody girls' soccer earned its first ever Sectional title.
Peabody High girls' soccer won its first Sectional title Sunday night, elevating the Lady Tanners into the semi-finals for the state tournament, along with being a berth the school hasn't seen in recent years. Sunday at Lynn's Manning Field, Hayley Dowd fired off a pair of impressive goals followed by one from Victoria DiGiacomo to put Peabody up 3-1 over Chelmsford and giving the Lady Tanners the Division I North title. Peabody (20-0-2) defeated a number of strong teams in the Sectional tournament -- Westford, Concord-Carlisle, Acton-Boxboro and now Chelmsford, all of which have failed to contain the Peabody powerhouse. The Lady Tanners now face the Division I South Champion Oliver Ames Tuesday at Weymouth High School. Game time is 5:30 p…

Junior star forward Dowd keeps Peabody alive in tourney play, now bound for Sectionals Final.
Thanks to a perfect shot from scoring sensation Hayley Dowd in overtime Friday afternoon, Peabody girls' soccer is now bound for the Division I North Finals on Sunday. Dowd and the Lady Tanners took down a tough Acton-Boxboro team at Lynn's Manning Field Friday in the tournament semi-finals. The game remained scoreless through regulation play and with just under 7 minutes to go in the first overtime period, Dowd earned a free kick and buried it in the opponents' net. The Lady Tanners now head to the Sectional Final game back at Manning Field versus Chelmsford Sunday (5:30 p.m.) The Lions knocked off North Andover on Friday, and during the regular season, tied things up with Peabody. Peabody, still unbeaten at 19-0-2, started the tournament…
