A former Peabody man who was convicted of stabbing his brother-in-law to death 22 years ago has been released on parole for the second time.
Kevin Wood is back out on parole for the second time in just over two years. The Salem News reports that Wood, a former Peabody resident, was convicted of second-degree murder for stabbing his brother-in-law, George Aulson, to death in 1991 during an argument between the two men at Wood's mobile home. According to reports from the original case, Aulson had shown up late one night to confront Wood about tipping off the police to their marijuana-growing operation, and a deadly fight ensued. Wood was finally granted parole on his second try in 2010 -- Parole Board members cited sincere efforts and progress at rehabilitation over 19 years -- but then Wood ended up back in jail after two run-ins with Aulson's brother, reports the Salem News. A Beverly man who pled guilty to second-degree murder for the 1987 shooting death of Raymond Bufalino was denied parole in a decision released by Massachusetts Parole Board late last week. Charles Doucette, 53, of Beverly "clearly poses a threat to public safety,” District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett said. “On multiple occasions, while out on bail or while on parole, Mr. Doucette has engaged in threats and serious acts of violence which call into question his ability to function in society.” On Feb. 21, 1987, Charles Doucette shot Raymond Bufalino twice in the head over a dispute about money, while they sat in the victim’s car on Harmony Grove Road on the Peabody-Salem line. Would these Parole Board members grant parole to someone who stabbed a family member of theirs? The answer is NO! 3 children grew up without a father because of this man. I would be disgusted and ashamed if any of these parole board members were my family or friends.   more ›
