Live Music This Weekend: Drop Zone and Cool Change

Here is a round-up of live music throughout the North Shore this weekend.

This weekend is packed with live music on the North Shore and a whole bunch of bands playing a wide variety of music genres, from classic rock to blues and soul, can be seen for free at rock clubs and restaurants throughout the region.  The Drop Zone is playing at Rockafellas on Saturday night. Per the band's wesbite, the Drop Zone "is a full production rock/pop/dance cover band. Drop Zone is a top-notch act covering everything from The Bravery to Bob Marley, Rage Against The Machine to The Killers and The Rolling Stones to Katy Perry. Live Music This Weekend: Rock N' Roll Night for Erin

Here is a round up of live music happening this weekend around the North Shore.

This weekend is packed with live music on the North Shore and a whole bunch of bands playing a wide variety of music genres, from classic rock to blues and soul, can be seen for free at rock clubs and restaurants throughout the region.  The Great American Tavern in North Reading is hosting a benefit concert this weekend called Rock N' Roll Night for Erin. "The show will help to raise money for Erin Dawson, who has recently been diagnosed with Grade 4 Glioblastoma brain cancer (the most aggressive form of brain cancer). All the proceeds will help to defray the mounting medical costs that Erin has, and will continue to have. Su-Chang's Adds Live Jazz to the Menu

The popular Lowell Street eatery has received approval for live entertainment, up to a four-piece band.

Su-Chang's Restaurant is livening things up for its customers. The popular Lowell Street Chinese eatery received approval from the City Council last week for live entertainment on certain days, specifically up to a four-piece band. An application from longtime owner Suzanne Waite said the intent was to bring in a jazz trio three nights a week. Televisions will also be added now and the band will take up space near the bar. "I came before the council 20 years ago for a permit to build Su-Changs. It’s been very successful and now we want to add live music," Waite told councilors. Her application asked for hours 6-10 p.m. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, but City Clerk Tim Spanos pointed out in the hearing that requests for live entertainment on …
