Cordish Still Undecided Whether to Pursue Mall Site for Slot Parlor

The company eyeing Danvers still has not decided where it will seek a license for a slots parlor.

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission is still waiting to hear from Cordish Companies about where it wants to locate a proposed slots parlor in the state. One possible site the company has considered is the Liberty Tree Mall in Danvers, and as a direct neighbor, Peabody would almost certainly factor into any considerations made for surrounding communities, if the plan were to go forward. It did not reopen on Saturday and Sunday and one Danvers Patch user reported that she showed up there with her kids on Monday, when Danvers Public Schools and most other area schools had a snowday, and found it closed. The metal gate was down and there was a sign posted …

Baltimore Co. Eyes Liberty Tree Mall as Possible Site for Slots Parlor

One of the three applicants for a slots parlor in the state is looking at Liberty Tree Mall, several town officials have told the Boston Globe.

The Liberty Tree Mall, just over the line in Danvers, is being considered by a Baltimore-based developer as a potential site for a large slots parlor. The plan was one of the last-minute submissions to state officials last week to meet the application deadline for slots parlors, the Boston Globe reports. The plan calls for 1,200 slots in a 50,000-square-foot complex that would be open 24 hours a day, reports the Globe. PPE Casino Resorts is one of three applicants for the state's lone slots parlor license and the last - and least known - of the three applicants. The other two applications are for locations on the South Coast. While the three locations for resort casinos are constrained by the three regions set out in the 2011 casino …
