School Officials Say Overflow of Support Shows True Peabody Spirit
Peabody school officials say the abundance of support both for the Rice family and the residents left homeless in the Dec. 23 fire that claimed the life of Firefighter James Rice really shows what the city is made of.
Earlier this month, school officials praised all the parents, students and local businesses that stepped up to rally around the family of fallen Peabody Firefighter James Rice and the dozen victims who were left homeless by the deadly fire on Dec. 23. And now they have some more groups to thank for donations Tuesday night – the Concord-Carlisle Hockey Boosters collected donations for the James Rice Memorial Fund during a game with Peabody on Dec. 28 and the West School community also held a fundraiser to contribute to the memorial fund. The educational memorial fund is at the Peabody Municipal Federal Credit Union.
