The Peabody track teams remained unbeaten in the winter season, as they improved to 2-0 with wins over Marblehead.
It was a battle of two track powers on Monday as the Marblehead Magicians took on the Peabody Tanners at Peabody Veterans Memorial High School. When the final gun had sounded, the Tanners took away wins in both the boys and girls competitions, with 52-34 and 46-40 scores respectively. The girls meet was a back and forth battle as both teams dominated certain events, but in the end it was Peabody's ability to take more first place finishes that made the difference. The Peabody High track teams both earned wins in the first meet of the season, at home against Salem on Monday, Dec. 13, as the girls won 75-11 and the boys earned a 67-19 victory. The girls had eight first place finishers in what head coach Jose Rocha called "a good start to the season."
