Nursing Home Releases Statement on Fatal Accident

Residents and staff loved Hussein's "generous spirit and kindness."

The Hunt Nursing and Rehabilitation Center's administrator, Peter Roberts, has issued a statement regarding Wednesday's fatal accident at the Lindall Street facility in Danvers. A 45-year-old patient, James Hussein of Peabody, was pronounced dead after falling from the window of his second-story room. "The Hunt Nursing and Rehabilitation Center staff, residents and families are deeply saddened by the tragic passing of this man who was immensely popular in the facility," Roberts said in a statement. "Our thoughts and prayers at this time are with his family and with the many residents and staff who loved his generous spirit and kindness." Man Dies in Fall From Second-Story Window at Danvers Nursing Home

A 45-year-old male patient fell from a second-story window at the nursing home late Wednesday afternoon.

Danvers police and firefighters responded to Hunt Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Lindall Street in Danvers just before 4 p.m. this afternoon, where a man reportedly fell from a second story window. According to the Essex County District Attorney's office, a 45-year-old patient, James Hussein of Peabody, was discovered outside the building by a visitor of the nursing home. Initial police scanner reports indicated Lyons Ambulance Service requested a medflight, but the call was later cancelled. Hunt Nursing Home staff said they had checked on Hussein in his bedroom at approximately 3 p.m. State Police investigators have ruled out foul play, but the situation remains under investigation.
