What's Open, Closed on New Year's Day
Here's the round-up of what is open and what's closed today for New Year's.
[Correction: Stop & Shop, Shaw's and Hannaford are open today until 9 p.m., but Trader Joe's is closed.] So what's open for New Year's, you ask? Not much. In addition to liquor stores, some restaurants and bars are open today -- best to call ahead -- and it likewise varies by establishment for convenience stores, gas stations, Dunkin' Donuts, etc. CVS says it will be open regular hours (exact hours vary by location) and Walgreens will be open 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. If you know of any particular stores that are open today, leave a comment here to share the wealth.
