Fundraiser Feb. 1 for Peabody woman with genetic disease now battling aggressive brain tumor.

[The following press release was submitted by Neurofibromatosis, Inc., Northeast.] In spite of being born with a genetic disease called neurofibromatosis (NF), Peabody resident Erin Dawson finished college and landed her dream job at Endicott College with campus security. Several months ago 25-year-old Erin’s reality was shattered when she was diagnosed with a glioblastoma, an aggressive malignant brain tumor that is more prevalent in people with NF. Neurofibromatosis (NF) is a neurological genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow anywhere along the body’s nerves at any time. NF affects more people than muscular dystrophy and cystic fibrosis combined. Facing mounting medical bills and unable to work, Erin’s many friends and large family…
