Sapienza Announces Plans to Retire in June

Peabody High principal plans to retire at end of June after more than 40 years in the district.

Before he gets to ride off into the sunset this summer, Peabody's Interim School Superintendent Dr. Herb Levine will also be tasked with finding a new high school principal as well. The School Committee will vote Tuesday night on the contract for the district's new superintendent, Joseph Mastrocola, and now Peabody Veterans Memorial High School Principal Edward Sapienza says he plans to retire at the end of this school year. Sapienza submitted a letter to Levine and committee members last week, notifying them of his intention to retire from the Peabody Public Schools on June 30.
