Weekend Highlight

Get Your Crafts and Fall Desserts This Weekend

Peabody Patch will highlight one fun or important event each weekend that you don't want to miss.

The popular Apple Bake is back this weekend at the Nathaniel Felton Jr. House with various homemade cakes and pies for sale, along with the 30th Annual Crafts Fair at the Smith Barn. Both events, which run Saturday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., will be staffed by Peabody Historical Society volunteers. The Felton House is located at 43 Felton St., while across the road is the historical barn at 38 Felton St. There is free admission and parking; refreshments will be available for purchase. At the Smith Barn, there will be a snack bar with meatball sandwiches, hot dogs, and apple pie/crisp. Weekend Highlight

It's All About Crafts This Weekend

Peabody Patch will highlight one fun or important event each weekend that you don't want to miss.

The Higgins Middle School PTO will host its 10th Annual Craft Fair this weekend. The fair runs Saturday, Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. inside the school gym. According to PTO Chair and Fundraising Coordinator Kendra DeYoung, there will be 70-75 tables (one crafter per table) featuring: jewelry, manufactured and homemade crafts, hair and skincare products (such as feathers and hair bands), holiday decor, stained glass, quilts and independent home business consultants from Avon, Tupperware and Tastefully Simple. She said many vendors own small businesses in Peabody. "Higgins is the largest middle school in New England with 1,400 students," said DeYoung, who has an eighth-grader herself at the school.
