Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived by Peabody Tower 1 promptly at 4 p.m. Sunday to kick off the city's 29th Annual Holiday Festival.
Peabody's 29th Annual Holiday Festival was held Sunday at City Hall. Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived by Peabody Tower 1 promptly at 4 p.m. to kick off the festivities and join Mayor Ted Bettencourt for the countdown to light the city's 30-foot Christmas tree. Once the tree was lit, the crowd flowed upstairs to Wiggin Auditorium for Christmas carols performed by Peabody Veterans Memorial High School's Full House A Cappella group before the youngsters lined up to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Bettencourt, Jr. and the city of Peabody are pleased to announce that the 29th Annual Holiday Festival will be held on Sunday, Dec. 9 at Peabody City Hall. "This year's festival promises to be a treat for all who attend! Once again we will joined by Santa and Mrs. Claus, direct from the North Pole," said Mayor Bettencourt. The program for the afternoon will run as follows: This event is free and open to the public. If you have questions or need additional information, please contact the mayor's office at 978-538-5704.
