The Central Street convenience store was robbed Sunday night by a man with a gun.
Peabody police, state troopers and multiple K-9 units were out searching for two suspects in an armed robbery Sunday night. A robbery was reported at Town Variety on Central Street just before 9 p.m. Police said the suspects fled in a silver van, bailing from the vehicle and taking off on foot into a building at 86R Endicott St. The main suspect, a Lynn man, allegedly showed a gun during the robbery. According to scanner reports, officers at the scene Sunday night possibly recovered that weapon outside the building on Endicott Street. The second suspect is a Peabody man who lives at Esquire Circle and was allegedly driving the van. A 56-year-old Peabody man was arrested Sunday for robbing the pharmacy inside Hannaford's for prescription drugs.
Police arrested a 56-year-old Peabody man Sunday afternoon after he allegedly robbed the pharmacy inside Hannaford's Supermarket and threatened the pharmacist that he was armed. The pharmacist told police the man demanded prescription drugs. Steven M. Sharry, of 2 Hoover Ave., Peabody, was charged with armed robbery with a firearm when arrested by police at his home. Police said Sharry walked into the pharmacy shop around 1:30 p.m. and told the female employee he had a .45 caliber handgun while demanding she give him Adderall and Tussionex. She handed over the drugs in a bag and Sharry then ordered her to get down on the floor for five minutes while he escaped. This customer wasn't there for the pizza. Police say a masked man, 35-40, walked in with a large knife and demanded cash.
Peabody police are investigating an armed robbery at Domino's Pizza from late Monday night. According to police, a white male with a black cloth over his face entered the store in Wilson Square shortly before 11 p.m. and showed a large knife to the lone clerk on duty. The man then demanded money from the clerk and fled on foot out the back door with an undetermined amount of cash from the register. Police said he took off down Route 114 toward Pound Lane and no getaway vehicles were in sight. The regular store hours that night were 11 a.m. - midnight. The A-Plus Market on Central Street was robbed at knife-point Thursday afternoon. According to scanner reports, a man with a machete held up the cashier and took off on foot in the area of Central and Margin streets. A 42-year-old Peabody man was arrested Wednesday and charged with an armed robbery at a neighborhood market in Salem the night before.
Police have arrested a Peabody man in connection with a Tuesday night armed robbery at Kwik Shop Market & Deli on Jefferson Avenue in Salem. Hosea Kendrick, 42, of Driscoll Street in Peabody was arrested at his home at approximately 1:30 p.m. Wednesday by Salem and Peabody detectives, Salem Police said. Kendrick has a criminal history, which has included jail time for offenses including assault and battery, larceny and armed robbery. In 2010 he was charged with stealing a cash register from the Salem Dollar Store, according to the Salem News. A 41-year-old Beverly man being charged with a number of recent robberies, one of which was in West Peabody, remains held without bail.
A 41-year-old Beverly man charged with a stabbing and robbery in West Peabody, along with a string of other robberies in nearby towns, is being held without bail as a danger to the public. The Salem News reported that Michael Whitcomb's attorney did not contest that request by prosecutors at a dangerousness hearing on Friday in Peabody District Court. The lawyer waived both her client's appearance in court and a full hearing on the dangerousness determination, according to the Salem News. A 41-year-old Beverly man facing charges in a robbery and stabbing in West Peabody, now faces charges in a string of robberies in other North Shore towns.
A Beverly man charged with a robbery and stabbing in West Peabody last month is now being charged with robberies in Rowley, Georgetown and Ipswich, according to a report by the Salem News. Michael J. Whitcomb, 41, of Beverly, may also face charges for at least two other recent armed assaults in downtown Peabody, police have said. Whitcomb was arrested on Oct. 27 and charged with assault with intent to murder, armed robbery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon over the Oct. 23 incident, in which he allegedly stabbed a man in the leg outside a home on Jackson Avenue. The Bostik Plant explosion Sunday night reverberatted with news during and after the event for several days this week as authorities continue to probe the cause of the blast which injured four company employees. Police said Raymond Wallace is a person of interest in the December robbery at Route 114 Borders in Peabody.
Police arrested a man in connection with Wednesday's PetSmart robbery and authorities say there is a strong possibility the same man robbed a Peabody Borders in December. Raymond Wallace, 33, of 1 Courageous Ct. was arrested at his home at gunpoint just after midnight Thursday after police said he robbed PetSmart on Traders Way just before 10 p.m. "When the manager was closing, locking up, he [Wallace] appeared and pointed a gun at him [the manager] and told him to get back inside," Lt.
