The city's Council on Aging and senior center is housed in the Peter A. Torigian Community Life Center. The council serves the needs of seniors and provides a central place where seniors can socialize and gather. Seniors can receive advice on complex issues such as understanding Medicare benefits, housing, nutrition and personal health. The life center includes a fitness center and offers many activities such as Bingo, crocheting and knitting, bowling and support groups. The COA staff also offer outings and provide transportation for doctor's appointments and grocery shopping.
