The tournament is in memory of fallen Peabody firefighter James Rice and all proceeds from the event benefit the Rice family.

It may be pouring now, but the forecast for Saturday still looks sunny with a high of 84 degrees and otherwise perfect for a day of softball.

This Saturday is the 2nd Annual Jim Rice Memorial Softball Tournament. Stop down to Marrs Park or O'Conor Park at 9 a.m. to watch the first three games as 13 local police, fire and EMS teams battle it out for the trophy. Games are seven innings and will be played every hour. The tournament is double elimination.

The teams this year are made up of firefighters from Peabody, Danvers, Lynnfield, Boxford, Lynn, Marblehead, Middleton, North Reading, Ipswich, Revere and Chelsea Fire, along with Peabody police, members of the sheriff's department and Atlantic Ambulance. You can find the brackets here.

There will food, entertainment, raffles and commemorative softball jerseys for sale. All proceeds from the tournament, which is in memory of fallen Peabody firefighter James Rice, benefit the Rice family.

If you'd like to order your official 2013 Jim Rice softball jersey online, you can do so here.
