1. HALLOWEEN SKATING PARTY

Where/When: James E. McVann-Louis F. O'Keefe Memorial Skating Rink, Peabody; Sunday, 2:15 p.m.

Why Go: Skate around the McCann-O'Keefe rink wearing your Halloween costume plus get a chance to win prizes, get your face painted and listen to music.

Pricing: $3 for ages 8 and under; $5 for older than age 8 and adults; $6 for skate rentals

2. COSTUME RUN FOR A CAUSE 

Where/When: Endicott College, Beverly; Sunday, 11 a.m.

Why Go: It's your annual chance to go for a run wearing your Halloween costume. This race will take you around the Endicott College campus and, in addition to the typical awards for the top finishers, the best costume will also get an award.

Pricing: $10

3. ED EMBERLEY HALLOWEEN PROGRAM AND BOOK SIGNING

Where/When: Wenham Museum; Sunday, 1 

Why Go: Renowned children's author Ed Emberley hosts 'an afternoon of spooky fun, goolish games, and creepy crafts" that is bets suited for children age 3 and older. Emberley will also be signing his newest book "Nighty Night, Little Green Monster."

Pricing: Included with the regular museum admission, $8 for adults, $6 for children and members free. 

4. CHILDREN'S HALLOWEEN OPEN HOUSE

Where/When: "Eldridge Mansion," 24 Chester St., Danvers; Sunday, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Why Go: The "Eldridge Mansion" will offer "horrific delights" as punch and cookies are served. It is located off Ash Street near Danvers Town Hall and not far from Danvers Square.

Pricing: Donations accepted toward the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

5. THIS FARM IS HAUNTED

Where/When: Green Meadows Farm, Hamilton; Sunday, 1-3 p.m.

Why Go: This family-friendly event is hosted by the Green Meadows Farm and Essex County Greenbelt Association. Everyone is encouraged to wear costumes for hayrides, cider, a kids costume parade and pumpkin and gourd decorating, among other activities.
