1. SUMMER PEACH CELEBRATION AT BROOKSBY FARM

Where/When: Brooksby Farm, 54 Felton St., Peabody; Saturday, 12-3 p.m.

Why Go: Pick your own peaches from the orchard, then check out the farm store to sample jams and preserves, fruit pies, grilled peaches and some quick and easy recipes. There will also be a coloring contest for kids, tractor-drawn hayrides and kids can climb around on the tractors and farm equipment. 

Pricing: No admission cost, but regular prices for peach picking

2. LOCAL TEENS INVITED TO MEET TEEN AUTHORS

Where/When: Used Book Superstore, 139 Endicott St., Danvers; Saturday, 2-4 p.m.

Why Go: The Used Book Superstore in Danvers is hosting a group author event for teens on Saturday from 2-4 p.m. It's a chance for local teens to meet some talented peers (teen authors).

Pricing: Free

3. HOCKEY/SPORTS EQUIPMENT YARD SALE TO BENEFIT BEVERLY YOUTH HOCKEY

Where/When: 8 Walnut Ave., Beverly; 9 a.m. Saturday

Why Go: Getting good sports equipment for your rapidly-growing girls and boys doesn't have to break the bank. Plus, sales of the "gently used" items benefit Beverly Youth Hockey.

Pricing: Free admission but of course the items are for sale.

4. CHURCH RUMMAGE SALE

Where/When: This community rummage sale runs Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at First United Methodist, 391 Bay Road, Hamilton

Why Go: Great deals should be on offer, with items drawn from many local families. By the way, if you're looking for other yard sales, here's our map of ones this weekend on the North Shore.

Pricing: Free admission. Prices for items will of course vary.

5. JUMPIN' JUBA IN TOPSFIELD

Where/When: Topsfield Town Common; Sunday, 4 p.m.

Why Go: Jumpin' Juba is putting on an outdoor concert at the Topsfield Town Common gazebo with a mix of blues from Chicago, Memphis and New Orleans with roots-y rock n' roll, jazz, calypso and Latin flavors. Steve Hurl is on guitar, Bruce Ward is the band's pianist and Brian Flan is the drummer. The trio recently released their second album "Slap Happy."
